Three Years on CACR: More Than 10,000 Hours of Access Secured

After three years supporting the Cork Area Commuter Rail programme, JSPC Group has completed a defining chapter in its work across Ireland.

During that period, our team booked more than 10,000 hours of railway access and supported the planning and delivery of complex disruptive possessions, including multiple 76-hour and 52-hour windows. The work demanded far more than producing access requests. It required detailed coordination, clear reporting, responsive decision-making and constant collaboration with clients, contractors and delivery teams.

JSPC provided on-site management support, duty and on-call coverage, management of PSCS site supervisors, weekly shift reporting and the sign-off of PSCS documentation. Working alongside Pod-Trak Ireland, Alstom and the wider project team gave us a practical understanding of how major rail work is planned and delivered in Ireland.

CACR was demanding, rewarding and occasionally emotional. It opened doors for JSPC and helped us build relationships, strengthen our Irish delivery capability and understand the difference between a programme that looks good on paper and one that works at 02:00 with the possession clock running.

The project may be complete for us, but the experience continues to shape how we support clients. From access planning and possession strategy to P6 project controls, PSCS support and on-site delivery management, we bring the lessons learned on CACR into every new commission.

With three major opportunities developing in our pipeline, the next chapter is already taking shape.
